If you weren't buying direct from the vineyard, this wine would cost you a lot more. Find out why.

This moreish wine is an exceptional example of a Pinot Noir; a wine we're passionate about and hope demonstrates our love for what we do.

Our 2022 Pinot Noir opens with a fresh fruity, cherry led nose, an elegant example of our unique English terroir. It’s a medium-bodied wine that has a soft, sumptuous mouthfeel with mouthwatering long-lasting red fruit flavours of cherry and raspberry.  Time spent in carefully selected French and American oak barrels has resulted in warming notes of peppercorn and cloves, smoothed with just a touch of vanilla and a refreshing acidity to finish. This wine will not disappoint!

Wine Making Notes

After a good, warm summer with a dry autumn, the pinot noir had ripened brilliantly to enable us to make our very special 100% Pinot Noir.

Crushed and destemmed, 9% of the volume was fermented in barrel with the remainder in stainless steel, all left on the skins for one week of maceration to develop colour, tannins, and character.

After this week, the pulp was pressed and the juice moved on to finish alcoholic fermentation in a mix of 225L barrels and stainless steel.

The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation, converting the harsher malic acids into lactic acids to create the sumptuous mouthfeel and creamy character.

86% of the wine aged in a mix of French and American oak for a year before final filtration and bottling.
