Our Terroir

Our Terroir

Why Terroir Matters

When it comes to wine, you may have heard the word "terroir" tossed around a lot. So, what does it mean? Simply put, terroir is the unique combination of factors like soil, climate, and landscape that influence the grapes and the wine they produce. At Bride Valley vineyard, our terroir is incredibly special.

The cool, maritime climate and chalky soils help shape the flavours in each bottle we create. The soil’s mineral content gives our wines a distinct freshness and minerality, while the weather adds that unique balance of ripeness and acidity. The salty sea breezes that blow across from the Jurassic coast add a delicious touch of salinity and refinement.

It’s like each glass of wine carries a little story about the land it came from.

In short, the terroir is why our wines are so unique and full of character. It’s the personality of the land that makes every sip something truly special.
