Rosé Bella gets a good reception

We sent some of our best-selling Rosé Bella 2014 over to our neighbours and fellow winemakers Furleigh Estate this week, for a charity wine-tasting. The event, A Flight of Fizz, was run by Dorset’s foremost wine-merchants Morrish & Banham, in aid of an important local charity the Weldmar Hospice Trust. Led by M&B founder Mark Banham, attendees sampled a comprehensive flight of sparkling wines from the Jurassic Coast across France via Champagne, the Loire and down to northern Italy.

Mark said: “Rosé Bella and Bride Valley’s Brut Reserve are always very popular in our store so it was no surprise that Rosé Bella went down so well at the event, the 2014 being in my opinion the best vintage yet. Guests were especially interested to hear about the production method, and how the colour comes from the maceration of the pinot meunier skins with the juice, unlike many other roses where the red is added at the end of the process.”

Mark added: “With Bride Valley, Furleigh Estate and nearby Langham Estate all producing top-class English sparkling, the wine community here in Dorset is really beginning to establish a name for itself. We’re especially blessed to have in Steven Spurrier, such an influential and well-respected name on our doorstep.”
